Hydrophobic hollow fiber membrane is used to establish large contact surface of humid gas/air with hygroscopic liquid without mixing. Saturated hygroscopic liquid is revitalised by removing water and used again in contactor dehumidification module. Water vapour drive through pores can be enhanced by temperature change.
Can easily work other way, introducing humidity to inflow gas. Hydrophobic membrane creates large controlled surface for water to vaporize to flow of gas. Can be enhanced with increased temperature. For this application water should be clean near RO quality not to foul the membrane.
If liquid in this process is a water solution, concentrate can be easily produced by evaporating vater.
If liquid is a chemical solution, volatile parts of it can be removed with this process. Chemical resistance has to be in line with membrane module materials.
